Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi that started its operations in 1921-22, is one of the earliest faculties established by the BHU. Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, the founder of the University, served for many years as the Dean of Law School. Legal luminaries like Sir Rash Behari Ghosh and Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru, were among the earlier Deans.

Faculty of Law, BHU conducts its own entrance exam every year to select students to its five-year Law program.

BLAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for BLAT 2021, the following eligibility criteria should be met
  • The candidate needs to have passed 10+2 (or any equivalent exam) from a recognized university
  • The cut-off marks in the qualifying exam is 50% for general, 45% for OBC, and 40% for ST & SC candidates
  • Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying exam in the exam year may also apply
  • Those who have obtained 10+2, or Graduation/Post-graduation through open Universities System directly, without having any basic qualification for pursuing such studies, shall not be eligible for admission to the 5-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) Course.

Application Process

Candidates seeking admission to the course need to fill up the application to be able to appear for BLAT 2021. The duly filled form can be submitted in online mode on the official website www.bhuonline.in. The steps involved are:

Admit Card

The admit card for BLAT 2021 will be released on the official websitewww.bhuonnline.in. Candidates must take a printout of the application form; and keep it with themselves. .

BLAT Answer Key 2021

The exam conducting authority will release the provisional answer key of BLAT 2021 within a few days of the conclusion of the exam. The BLAT 2021 answer key will contain the answers to all the questions asked in the entrance exam. The candidate will be able to compare their answers with those given in the provisional keys to calculate probable scores, and thus access their chances of admission.

To calculate probable scores one must refer to the official marking scheme as prescribed for the exam. Note that there will also be a provision to challenge the provisional answer key, post which the final BLAT answer key 2021 will be released.

BLAT Result 2021

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will declare BHU BA LLB result 2021 or BLAT result 2021 tentatively in the month of May. BLAT 2021 result would be declared for all candidates who have appeared in the entrance exam and could be checked online through the official website of the university. To check their results, the candidate has to click on the result link and login by entering one’s registered email id and password. The result would include such details like the name, roll number, application number, sectional marks and total marks obtained in the exam, and rank. Based on the marks obtained by the candidate in the entrance exam, BLAT merit list 2021 will be prepared which will be used for counselling and seat allotment.

BLAT Counselling 2021

The candidate will be shortlisted for counselling based on the merit list. BLAT 2021 counselling process will be conducted in online mode (computerized counselling), wherein the candidate will have to register for counselling, pay the counselling fee and participate in choice filling and locking. The allotment of BLAT 2021 seats will be based on the merit rank of the candidate and choices entered for a mission. Note that document verification will be an integral part of the counselling process, and such candidates who complete the process successfully will be considered for admission

Post allotment, candidates who may be considered for up-gradation of seats in subsequent rounds of counselling.

BLAT Cutoff 2021

The admission officials will determine category-wise BLAT 2021 cutoff for admission to the 5-year integrated BA LLB law programme. Candidates who meet the BLAT cut off 2021 will be eligible for admission, while those securing marks (or rank) below the cutoff would be more or less out of the admission process. To determine the BLAT cutoff 2021 cutoff, admission officials will consider factors like number of seats, category of the candidate, total applicants, etc.
